We’d also like to thank the talented, Rachel of Rachel May Photography for perfectly capturing the beautiful images that reflect our brand, and the ladies of Paisley and Jade for providing us the beautiful desk for our photoshoot. A friend of mine from college, Lucy, got in touch with us last week to design an invitation for a baby shower she is hosting next month. We had a blast designing to this theme – “Momma is about to POP!”
Steph and her husband are expecting a baby boy, so we played with a blue, green & white color scheme, and this is what we came up with:
We immediately thought POPcorn would be a fun way to tie in the theme, and would lend itself well to some tasty favors for the guests:
The adorable green and white striped bags are full of popcorn and tied with a blue tag, whose shape and color are pulled right from the invitation! We lettered the tags in a white ink to match the envelopes of the invitations. The front of the tags say ‘POP!’ and the back says: ‘thanks.’
We love the white ink on the little boy blue paper details! The ink softens the color scheme and sways the suite a little more toward ‘baby’ instead of ‘little boy.’
Congratulations to Steph and Russ! And a big thank you to Lucy for letting us design the invitations for the shower!
Hi Everyone! Hope you’re all keeping bundled up and cozy…
We’re keeping our sights on the #brightside this winter by working on a lot of really exciting projects featuring soft touches and blush and gold color schemes! We thought it would be fun to share some of the fun elements we’ve been incorporating into these projects:
This year lace has been a really popular element to incorporate into wedding details, particularly for the Southern brides we’ve designed for. We’ve added lace to invitation suites and event details to add a classic, feminine touch.
Both gold and vintage have been on trend in the wedding world lately, and the combination of the two is to-die-for! We paired a neutral linen fabric with this vintage gold frame to create a board for escort cards.
Thermography is a timeless, elegant ink style that works for any occasion. For this menu we used gold thermography on a textured paper. Tres chic!
What a fun way to add subtle color and texture to an event! We’re using a pink seersucker envelope liner for a preppy spring invitation!
FUN GOLD DETAILS:
We found this fabulous gold napkin ring at ZGallery and we just can’t get enough of it! Just a fun gold detail that inspires us:
Hand-written calligraphy adds a refined, elegant look to any paper detail: envelopes, escort cards, menus, invitations, etc. We created this piece as a photo prop for a client’s big day!
There you have it! Some of the Blush & Gold projects we’ve been working on. What do you think?!
I hope you are all staying warm in the chilly winter weather that most of the country is enjoying right now…
In light of this slightly dreary time of year, we’ll be surrounding ourselves with bright and beautiful things- you know, a little splashy eye candy to keep us on the bright side. And we’ll be sharing lots of fun, fresh, ‘bright side’ images with you to keep your spirits up, too! Just look for our #brightside posts on Facebook and Instagram for some visual pick-me-ups!
We’ll kick off our beat-the-winter-blues series with this aqua and gold hand-lettered watercolor we created as an event detail for Allie & John’s big day. Sweet sentiment for a sweet day!
Sarah and I have been on a mission this week! A mission to spread Christmas cheer in a creative way. A mission to give back. A mission to give beautifully.
One particular organization caught our attention. They are HomeAgain. Their mission is focused on homeless veterans, families and individuals in Richmond, Virginia. HomeAgain offers emergency and transitional shelters, but what’s so unique are the programs they provide for their residents, designed to build skills and increase self-sufficiency. This Christmas, HomeAgain will provide each resident with Christmas gifts from their personal wish lists. Dear June was able to be a part of this too by providing gift tags for each of the resident’s gifts.
We love this time of year- fun with friends and family, festive decorations, a focus on faith, and the joy of giving all make this such a special season. And one of our favorite things to do during the holiday season is to plan our holiday gift wrappings!
It’s so exciting to find the perfect gift for each of our loved ones; nothing warms the heart quite like watch someone receive a thoughtfully-chosen gift. And what makes the act of giving even more fun is packaging your gifts in pretty wrappings!
That’s why this year we’ve been creating some pretty paper details to help you Give Beautifully this holiday season!
We’re so excited to open our Holiday Etsy shop next week, where you can find our hand-crafted paper details to make your gift-giving thoughtful and beautiful! Stay tuned to our blog and Facebook page for more of our holiday gift packaging styles and information about the grand opening of our Etsy shop!
In honor of their 2 month anniversary, let’s take a look at the wedding invitations we created for Emily and Matthew!
You may remember Emily from our post detailing the Bridal Shower Invitations we created for her and again with this Friday Fetes post with fun photos from the shower. She and Matt are good friends of ours and we had such a blast coming up with the paper designs for their wedding!
For their wedding, Emily and Matthew were planning a beautiful outdoor affair in the country with the ceremony in a rustic barn and the dinner and dancing beneath a classic white tent. The style was rustic meets feminine and have fun incorporating the sunflower yellow color that Emily chose as an accent.
Here are a few shots of the details:
The guest information cards showcased a delicate lace pattern that contrasted nicely with the natural kraft paper. We also used twine to add a interest and attach the invitation and guest cards.
We chose a crisp white, linen-textured paper for the invitations. We used thermography for the ink for a high-gloss, high-class effect. By printing the names of the bride and groom in color, we were able to tie in the sunflower yellow accent color and give some extra attention to the happy couple!
We are so happy with how Emily & Matthew’s invitations turned out. Congratulations to Emily and Matthew- we had so much fun helping to make your big day memorable!
We’re long overdue for a blog post- so many exciting things have happened since we last updated you over the summer! Many of our sweet clients have gotten married in the last few months, and we promise we’ll post photos of their wedding paper details soon!
In the meantime, though, we thought we’d share another exciting bit of news with you:
Remember when we posted here about how one of our goals for our second year in business is to get published? Well, it happened!
Here’s the story: a few weeks ago we teamed up with Tori of Marvelous Things Photography to photograph a fun shoot that we styled. Tori is a good friend of Leslee’s and we had so much fun working with her to create beautiful scenes and images- spending a day with good friends styling pretty things is our idea of a good time!
Tori posted some of her fabulous photos of the shoot on her blog, meaning that some of our work has officially been published- feel free to take a look!
We’re so happy with the results of the photo shoot- Tori is extremely talented and did a great job capturing the vision we had for the shoot- we highly recommend her if you’re in the market for photography! Thanks, Tori!
On another note, we’re busy working on a super exciting event in Richmond with The Knot and LK Events & Design! We’ll share the whole story with you soon, but for now we’re loving designing some creative paper details for the event.

As we celebrate our first year coming to a close, we’re excited to look ahead to our second year!
Here are some goals we have set for ourselves for the next 12 months:
1. Work with more clients: We’ve had so much fun working with our clients this past year! We can’t wait to work on new projects and meet more people in the coming year- after all, our clients are the reason we started Dear June!
2. Get published: We’d love to have our designs featured on other blogs and in magazines!
3. Build more industry relationships: We’ve already started working with some wedding planners and photographers in the area, and we’ve really enjoyed the relationships we’ve built thus far! For our second year we’d love to spend time cultivating these relationships.
4. Post more photos: We are going to be better about sharing photos of our projects with you! We plan to make it a point to improve our photo-sharing on Facebook, Instagram and here on the Blog! Hold us to it 😉
So there you have it-the 4 goals that will be guiding our second year in business! Cheers!
