We’re back with another “Inspiration to Invitation” post!
Today we’re sharing a Save-the-Date that was just delivered to my doorstep! It’s not all the time that we get invited to the events that we design invitations for, but it’s ALWAYS fun when we do!
Aleza and John are dear friends of mine- Aleza and I lived together in college (white house love!) so I was very honored when she asked Leslee and I to design some of the paper details for their September wedding!
Here’s the inspiration board I put together for the Save-the-Dates (you can check out more ideas on the Pinterest board we created for Aleza & John). Some of the design elements that were important to them were the vintage color scheme- teal and shades of raspberry, and a rustic meets victorian style. Also, both Aleza and John wanted to spotlight their beloved D.C. in the Save-the-Dates which ended up being a really fun element to incorporate!
Working with Aleza and John was so fun! They are both hilarious people and the conversations we had on the ‘look’ of the design were priceless! My favorite was when John described his ideal Save-the-Date to look like an invitation to Ford’s Theater only to admit he’s never actually seen an invitation to Ford’s Theater and also that he didn’t intend to make any reference to the unfortunate evening when Lincoln last visited…
It might have been a ‘had-to-be-there moment,’ but we thought it was hilarious!
It was also great to work with Aleza & John because they knew their ‘stuff’- John writes this awesome groom-centric blog called the Outspoken Groom– such a unique perspective on the wedding planning!
So without further ado, look what landed on my doorstep the other day:
Aleza’s very artistic mom addressed the envelopes!
And the return address was a stamp!
Ta-Da! We are all really excited with the way they turned out! Can’t wait for Aleza & John’s big day!
